Nothing to say

I envy those bloggers who seem to have an endless supply of fascinating topics. I’m not one of them. My life is pretty darn boring and average, and I must admit, I really like it that way.

Once the excitement of spring planting is past, we settle into the boring but gratifying task of maintaining the garden. I think it might be my ADHD, but I really like putting things in order. Mindless tasks, like pulling weeds, are perfect for settling my dizzy brain, giving ideas a chance to form and settle. But weeding the garden is a pretty boring topic for a blog post.

I’ve been working on virtual quilts for Northcott. It’s really kind of cool getting jpg files of fabric before it’s even printed. I use Corel Draw to cut it into pieces and assemble those pieces into a quilt, perfectly to scale. But I can’t show the designs to you until the fabric is printed and arriving in stores. More boring blog stuff.

I’ve also been working away at a series of three articles for Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine. Now that is way exciting for me. I’ve always thought that QN was one of the very best quilting magazines out there, all grown up, if you will. I’m so honored to have this opportunity. But I can’t show you the projects until the magazines come out. Boring.

So, all of this is a long way of saying that, yes, I’m still alive. Yes, I’m still working on stuff. But for now it’s blissfully boring.

Your life sounds sort of like mine except I don’t get to work on secret projects. I do like my quiet like watching my tomatoes ripen, a little fishing, a little sewing and right now a lot of time in the garden. So Boring is Good though doesn’t make much to blog about.

See you did have something to say. Your life is not boring just calm and calm is good.

I have never understood why some people think that a person has to post everyday in order to have a proper blog. I post once or twice a week and sometimes even at that I have little to say. And since I read off of “Bloglovin” I frequently don’t realize that there have been long pauses in other’s blogging. I just figure when you have something to share you post. And if not, you don’t.

Boring is good sometimes. It makes your mind wonder about how to fill the void, and sometimes, just sometimes good ideas come forth.
I saw you on Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson some years ago demonstrating a Quilt Pattern “Moondance n More”, I think. Have trying to find the instructions for that particular pattern for ages.
    HAVE ANY IDEAS????

Congratulations on QN articles! You will benefit so many quilters. I use your “machine applique by hand” so often. I learned alot in your class. I think you mean peaceful, not boring. I like peacful alot, compared to the hectic pace that life can hand us. Glad you have some time to plan and design, keep up your good work!

I enjoyed your blog today of course gardening is always interesting to me! A friend of mine is trying to help me get the news out about my quilting patterns and said I had to do a blog - now what in the world would I blog about? I sew, garden, clean and cook dinner but I found out that I really enjoy it even if I am the only one to read it. Your patterns are beautiful and your quilting is exquisite!
