Prom Night in Saginaw
When your kids reach a certain age it seems that milestones are everywhere.
Tonight is Prom Night for several Saginaw high schools. Our youngest son, David, is off to prom. While he’s going stag he’ll be surrounded by his best friends.
He’s a senior this year, he’ll graduate in just a few weeks. I know I’m biased, but I think he cleans up pretty well.
It is prom night for our third son, Caleb, as well. He’s finishing his second year of college, but he’s dating a charming girl who is a senior in high school. Being a mother to four sons I never thought that I would be part of sewing a prom dress. Elaine, bless her heart, let me help with her dress. We had a wonderful time and she looks marvelous, doesn’t she?
Kent and I will spend a quiet evening at home, planning our gardens, watching old movies. And, I’m sure, we’ll spend some time remembering our senior prom, thiry-two years ago. I loved making my dress for that prom, combining parts from three different patterns to get just the right look. We were young, in love and had so much to look forward to.
